Transport Rating Review the opportunity for community input.
14 October 2003
Rodney and Glenfield Ratepayer groups today presented petitions to Auckland Regional Council Chair Gwen Bull.
In response Councillor Bull made the following statement –
“We appreciate the time and effort people have taken to produce and sign these petitions. As a Council we listened to the public when they said they wanted better public transport. We responded in what we say was an equitable way – but it is now quite obvious that the public want better public transport but do not wish to pay. Is there a more equitable way? We are engaged in a review and look forward to your input for next year.”
A special edition of Regionwide will be distributed in community newspapers in the next week. The main topic is the Transport Rating Review and it contains a questionnaire and details of open days.
