Auckland Energy Consumer Trust Voting Documents Posted
Auckland , Oct. 14 – Voting documents for the election of the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust will be posted out from
tomorrow, Wednesday October 15.
The voting documents for the Trust’s triennial election of five trustees are being delivered to just under 258,000
consumers of electricity within the AECT consumer area (all of Auckland City, Manukau City, and part of Papakura
District). Delivery of all the documents by NZ Post is expected to take about 3 working days.
If a consumer has not received their voting document after checking Friday's mail (October 17), they can contact the
Returning Office on 3792023.
Only one voting document will be issued to each consumer, no matter how many connection points or properties a consumer
might have. For joint consumers (e.g. where the power account is in more than one name), only one voting document will
be issued. This is different to a local council or parliamentary election where eligibility is based on individual
voting rights.
Consumers will have until 5pm on Friday October 31 to return their completed voting documents back to the Returning
Officer in order to vote on who will represent the Trust for the next three years.
Consumers may post their completed voting documents back to the Returning Officer using the pre-paid envelope provided,
or completed voting documents may also be hand delivered during the voting period to a ballot box at the Returning
Office, Independent Election Services Ltd, Ground Floor, Bledisloe House, 24 Wellesley Street West, Auckland;
AECT executive officer Gary Sturgess said consumers are encouraged to take part in the poll.
The AECT is the owner of network infrastructure company VECTOR Ltd. VECTOR Ltd pays an annual dividend to the AECT and
the Trust then distributes these dividends to eligible consumers within the defined district.
