Local Input Sort On Randwick Park’s Proposed Skate Park
Manukau City Council and a community focus group are investigating plans to build a skate park on Randwick Park.
Council wants to hear from anyone wanting to provide ideas or feedback until 17 October 2003.
Manager of Parks, Digby Whyte, says the planning is still in the very early stages and anyone wanting to be involved in
the discussion, especially local teenagers and residents, can still have their say.
Mr Whyte says the proposed location for the skate park is on Randwick Park near the Riverton Road entrance.
“This would seem to be the best place given the central location within the reserve’s recreation area, direct view from
the street and natural slope which can be incorporated into the design,” said My Whyte.
Mr Whyte adds that ideally the skate park should not dominate the reserve’s character and would not be seen by adjacent
residential properties.
