A Workshop For Community Groups
Hutt City Council's Community Development unit, has organised a workshop that will assist community groups to develop and implement their own business plans.
The course runs over two half days on Wednesday 8 & 15 October from 1pm to 4pm in Room 3, Te Awakairangi Community Resource Centre, 47 Laings Road, Lower Hutt. The cost is $40 and places are limited.
"A Business Plan is like a map that community groups use to identify their strengths and weaknesses, communicate their ideas and spot problems before they arise," said Community Development Officer, Whiti Turner.
"A Business Plan can also strengthen a group's application for funding."
Participants can expect to learn the purpose of a Business Plan, how to set realistic goals, work towards achieving them and more.
Participants can bring their group's plan along to the course or take this opportunity to start afresh and develop a new Business Plan.
Iris Pahau who has thirty years experience working with and in voluntary organisations will lead the course.
