TRAFFIC BULLETIN
The Strand/Ronayne Street intersection restrictions
Transit New Zealand advises all road users in Grafton Gully that from Monday 8 September work will be taking place on
The Strand/ Ronayne Street intersection in the lower Gully area. The work will take place over approximately three
months.
Initially, working hours will be Monday to Saturday from 7am to 7pm. Night work will be undertaken at a later stage and
road users will be advised of details.
The work will be in stages with Stage 1 in progress during September. During Stage 1, two traffic movements will be
restricted:
- No right turn from The Strand into Ronayne Street.
- No right turn from Ronayne Street into The Strand.
All other traffic movements will be maintained. However, there may be delays as capacity through the area is reduced.
Southbound traffic heading along The Strand will be most affected with only one southbound lane open.
Motorists are asked to use alternative routes and avoid the area where possible.
Pedestrians should also take care in the area and be aware of restrictions to footpaths and changes to the intersection.
The work forms part of the major changes being made to the road layout of the area including The Strand/Ronayne Street,
The Strand/Parnell Rise and Stanley Street/Beach Road intersections.
Transit thanks all road users and residents for their co-operation.
For more information about the work, please phone 0800 TO FREEFLOW (863 733) or visit the public information centre on
the corner of Alten Road & Stanley Street, Grafton.
