Beckenham Service Centre to shift on August 22
Beckenham Service Centre will move from its temporary location at 148 Colombo Street on Friday 22 August, 2003.
At 1pm, staff will close the doors to the public and start shifting to the Council’s new service centre in the South Library, Service Centre and Learning Centre, cnr Hunter Tce and Colombo St.
It will be business as usual at the new location from 9am on Monday 25 August. Opening hours for the Service Centre will be 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.
The new Service Centre will provide:
Christchurch City Council information and services.
information that affects Spreydon/Heathcote residents.
information on the Spreydon/Heathcote Community Board.
community information.
information on parks, streets, traffic, community activities, planning, health and buildings.
receipting of Council payments such as rates and dog registration.
sale of Council publications and other items such as bus tickets and parking coupons.
The Centre’s Advocacy Team will move to the new building at the beginning of the week, starting 18 August. This team offers a range of services, including advocating for residents on Council or community-related issues. This might involve recreational activities, wanting to give a point of view to the Community Board, bus stops, funding for community events or community centre activities. While the service centre will not be open to the public until Monday 25 August, members of the Advocacy Team will be available on ph 941-8999.
