Time to Comment on Alcohol Policy Document
The public has until 14 July to comment on a discussion document that will be used in drafting the Christchurch City Council’s proposed alcohol policy.
The document is about taking a serious stance on reducing alcohol abuse. It also recognises the city’s significant hospitality industry, which makes a substantial economic contribution to the city
In developing a more holistic approach to liquor policy matters, the Council is looking at the issues in relation to five areas – use of legislation, use of liquor bans and bylaws; building and strengthening relationships; use of education; and advertising and sponsorship on Council property.
The document is available from Christchurch City Libraries, Council service centres and on the website http://www.ccc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay. Comments can be made on the Have Your Say website or by writing to Klaus Prusas, Team Leader Environmental Effects, Christchurch City Council, P.O.Box 237, Christchurch.
