Traffic Diversion on Khyber Pass Road
On Tuesday and Wednesday nights, 3 and 4 June 2003, all westbound traffic on Khyber Pass Road - motorists heading towards Newton and the motorway - will be diverted through Boston Road.
The diversion, in place from 9pm in the evening until 6am the following morning, will be clearly signposted.
Traffic heading east towards Newmarket will remain largely unaffected but will be directed to change lanes as required.
Other works in the area will also require the Khyber Pass On-ramp to be closed during this time.
The works are to allow essential strengthening work on the Khyber Pass Viaduct as part of Transit New Zealand’s upgrading of the Central Motorway Junction.
Transit thanks motorists for their co-operation in advance.
Further information about Stage 1 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction is available from the public information centre at the corner of Stanley St & Alten Rd or by phoning 0800 ToFreeflow (0800 863 733).
