Great Weekend Workshops And Short Courses At Nathan Homestead
As we near the end of Term Two, there is still time to get creative at Manurewa Community Arts Centre (Nathan Homestead) with some great weekend workshops and short courses coming up.

Using composite stone, first time students and experienced artists alike will find their ideas can be quickly realised and modified working in this medium.
“The Timeless Handcrafts: Pulled-Thread Bag workshop on 7 June, is designed for those with experience in counted thread embroidery and who have a sound knowledge of the pulled-thread technique. Our current creative embroidery tutor, UK trained Pat Hollister who holds certificates for City and Guilds in embroidery and design, will be taking the one-day course.” says Ms Kardarmia.
A first for Nathan Homestead this term is a 3-day workshop commencing on the 7 June, Introduction to Glass Casting. Under tutor Pam Olver, learn how to create a wax model and a mould for the firing process and how to de-mould and come away with a beautiful finished object.
Other workshops being held include the Handmade Ceramic Tile workshop where you can create and decorate a hand-made tile from raw clay and our one day Floral Design workshop with award-winning floral designer Rosemary Weir.
