Midge McLeary performs in Cathedral Square
Free Friday Lunchtime Concert, 23 May , Cathedral Square, 12.15pm to 1.15pm.
Singer Songwriter Midge McLeary, vocalist/acoustic guitar player, has been performing from an early age in various collective musical enterprises. Now as a solo performer he offers a rich mix of moody soulful music sung and played from the heart. He appears this Friday as part of the Free Friday Lunchtime Concert Series in Cathedral Square produced by Christchurch City Council Leisure.
His music fuses unique rhythms, finger-styles, alternate and open tunings, layered with strong melodic vocals, making it impossible to categorize his style into one genre.
Writing songs about his experiences and performing them live is definitely Midge’s passion, which he sees as an exchange of energy between himself, the song and the audience. Because of this belief, his stage presence is captivating and genuine.
Midge has just completed his third national tour for his second album titled 'ECHO' and is organising material for his third album. He performs at various festivals and venues around Aotearoa and more information about him can be found at http://www.midgemccleary.snap.net.nz
