Auckland Regional Office TRAFFIC BULLETIN
Night time closure of Grafton Rd On-ramp
Transit New Zealand advises that on Monday 19 May the Grafton Road on-ramp will be closed to traffic from 9pm until 6am Tuesday 20 May. During this time motorists will not be able to use the on-ramp to access the Southern Motorway (southbound) and the Northwestern Motorway.
Roadworks in this area are part of the Grafton Gully motorway upgrading project which, when completed, will provide direct access between the motorway and the port area.
The on-ramp closure is necessary to allow gantry and drainage works in preparation for the new southbound motorway access which will be opened next month. In case of severe weather conditions the closure will be carried out the following day.
During the closure, traffic management will be in place to direct motorists to alternative on-ramps. Transit advises motorists to access the Southern Motorway via Khyber Pass or Symonds St, and the Northwestern Motorway via Newton Rd or Symonds St.
Transit asks motorists to drive carefully past road works and be mindful of signals and traffic management measures.
For more information on this project, visit the project information centre at the corner of Stanley Street & Alten Road, phone 0800 To Freeflow (0800 853 733) or visit the Transit website http://www.transit.govt.nz.
