Holmes appointed to chair committee
North Shore City Council has appointed Gary Holmes to chair its regulatory and hearings committee, replacing Wyn Hoadley
who stepped down from the role after several years.
Councillor Holmes had been deputy chairperson of the special committee since he was elected to council in October 1998.
The second-term councillor has also served on the East Coast Bays Community Board since 1995 and has been the board's
co-ordinating commissioner for the past four-and-a-half years.
A communications graduate from the Auckland University of Technology, Gary Holmes lives in Torbay with wife, Meegan, and
son, Dylan.
The six-member regulatory and hearings committee also comprises Councillors Heather Brown, Andrew Eaglen, Margaret
Miles, Mike Tafua and Wyn Hoadley. It will appoint a new deputy chairperson later this month.
