Aerial Operation Postponed - Monday 31 March
There will be no general aerial operation to wipe out the painted apple moth tomorrow (Monday 31 March).
Windy conditions are expected tomorrow (Monday, 31 March), however the forecast is favourable for Tuesday and Wednesday. The general aerial operation will be carried out on Tuesday 1 April– or the next day that weather permits – and is likely to take more than one day to complete.
The painted apple moth was reduced for a second time last week and the planned operation will cover 8,100 hectares.
The public can call the free phone 0800 96 96 96 or visit www.maf.govt.nz/painted-apple-moth for general information about the programme. People can also listen to Newstalk ZB (1080 AM), 531 pi (531 AM), Chinese Radio (AM 990) and Radio Korea (1386 AM) for updates.
