In first three days about 8 per cent of Chch city voters return ballots
At the close of business on Thursday (March 20), just under 12,900 Christchurch voters had returned their ballot papers to the Christchurch City Council.
The postal ballot is being held to decide if future City Council elections will be held under the First Past the Post (FPP) or Single Transferable Vote (STV) system. Christchurch City electoral officer Max Robertson says city voters must return their voting papers to the Council by midday on Saturday, 5 April.
The 12,889 votes received so far represent 7.68 per cent of the city’s registered electors.
