Two candidates face off over Hobson seat
Two candidates are set to contest a Hobson Community Board’s by-election in April.
The by-election follows the resignation of former board member Judith Dickens.
“Nominations from Christine Caughey (Team Auckland - City Vision) and Julie Chambers (Auckland Citizens & Ratepayers Now) were received before today’s noon deadline,” says Dale Ofsoske, Auckland City Council’s electoral officer.
The by-election will be held by postal ballot with voting documents mailed to electors from Wednesday, 2 April 2003. Results will be known following the close of voting at 12 noon, Thursday, 24 April 2003.
There are about 44,000 eligible electors in the Hobson Community Board area.
The Hobson Community Board has six members and is one of 10 community boards in the city.
