Corinne McLaren wins Mt Roskill by-election
Auckland City Council Electoral Officer, Dale Ofsoske, has declared Corinne McLaren the newly elected member of the Mt Roskill Community Board.
Ms McLaren, the City Vision candidate, received 4,868 votes in the by-election held on Saturday, 1 March 2003.
The unsuccessful candidates were:
Paul Forlong Auckland Citizens and Ratepayers Now 3,005 votes
Kevin McKay Independent 2,328 votes
Mr Ofsoske says 16 informal votes and 46 blank votes were also received.
The by-election’s three-week postal voting period began on 7 February 2003 and voter turn out was 31.6 per cent.
Ms McLaren replaces former board chairperson Stephen Rosser who resigned late last year.
The Mt Roskill Community Board has five members and is one of 10 community boards in the city.
