A dog which bit a Christchurch girl in North Beach on 20 February is being held at the Christchurch City Council pound after its owner voluntarily surrendered it to a council animal control officer.
gWe want to make sure wefve got all the facts before deciding the dogfs fate,h says Mark Vincent, who heads the Councilfs animal control team.
The dog, a bull mastiff bitch of about 3-4 years old, has not come to the Councilfs attention before.
œ We are hoping to have more information about the situation later today.
