Speech on Auckland City’s future

Knowledge Wave speaker to deliver speech on Auckland City’s future.
Auckland City Council is delighted to announce that Professor Richard Florida, one of the keynote speakers attending this week’s Knowledge Wave Conference, will deliver a special Auckland-focussed speech entitled “Development of the Creative City” at 10am-12.45pm on Wednesday, 19 February 2003.
Professor Florida is the author of “The Rise of the Creative Class” and will explore the notion of creativity as a driver in creating a truly world class city. He is regarded as one of the most influential academics on the shift to the new knowledge economy. He has spearheaded debates on industrial competitiveness, high-technology industries, and the globalisation of industry.
The venue for the speech is the Level 2 Reception Lounge of the Auckland Town Hall.
