Traffic Diversion on Khyber Pass Road
On Sunday night (8 December), all westbound traffic on Khyber Pass Road, i.e. motorists heading towards Newton and the motorway, will be diverted through Boston Road.
The diversion, in place from 9 pm Sunday evening until 6 am Monday morning, will be clearly signposted.
Traffic heading east towards Newmarket will remain largely unaffected but directed to change lanes as required.
Transit New Zealand explains that the diversion is to allow essential strengthening work on the Khyber Pass Viaduct as part of its Central Motorway (Spaghetti) Junction upgrading project.
Transit and its contractors expect minimal disturbance and thank motorists in advance for their co-operation.
Further information about Stage 1 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction is available from the public information centre at the corner of Stanley St & Alten Rd or by phoning 0800 ToFreeflow (0800 863 733).
