Traffic Diversion on Khyber Pass Road
On Wednesday and Thursday nights (27 and 28 November), all westbound traffic on Khyber Pass Road, i.e. motorists heading towards Newton and the motorway, will be diverted through Boston Road.
The diversion, in place from 9 pm until 6 am on both nights, will be clearly signposted.
Traffic heading east towards Newmarket will remain largely unaffected but will be directed to change lanes as required.
Transit New Zealand explains that the diversion is to allow essential strengthening work on the Khyber Pass viaduct as part of its Central Motorway (Spaghetti) Junction upgrading project.
Transit and its contractors expect minimal disturbance and thank motorists for their co-operation in advance.
