Take a musical break
Christchurch City Libraries is joining with the Christchurch School of Music to support local musicians and provide Christmas shoppers with a welcome break.
During a series of four lunchtime performances held at Central City Library in Gloucester Street, music lovers will be treated to a selection of classical, chamber and chorale music. On Monday 2, Wednesday 4, Wednesday 11 and Friday 13 December from 12.15 to 12.45 pm local pianists, flutists and chorale singers will entertain library customers with pieces from Rondo, Mendelssohn and Christmas favourites.
Sue Sutherland, Libraries Manager says, “Christmas is such a hectic time. Thanks to the support of the Christchurch School of Music, we are able to offer our customers respite from the frantic lead up to Christmas. It’s also a chance for us to support our local musicians.”
