Books Without Borders
Greetings from the Far North and please excuse this intrusion as I know it is probably not part of your core business to
collect books but please consider this: we live in a book rich society and we have at least one book each we can spare.
Books Without Borders is a project that will ensure every item contributed by a New Zealander reaches a Nigerian child
or student.

set up a box where you, your friends, neighbours, workmates, etc., can drop off a book during the week 2nd-6th December.
Anything that can be used in a classroom or university is welcomed.
Shipment from 30 Aintree Ave, Mangere is free and if you have trouble getting your box to Mangere then I'll find a way
to close that gap because the desire for text is high and we have it in our power to quench some of that thirst for
knowledge.
My head keeps spinning with ideas and I just keep plugging away, using the internet as a tool, sending hundreds of
messages out into cyber-space and marvelling, "Oh brave, new world that has such wondrous creatures in it," as if I was
Miranda in 'The Tempest'... I do feel like I'm on some magic island. So I'm immensely glad to have so many people
working on the practicalities.
Some of my e-mails have been seeking endorsements from public figures... maybe you have contacts or the nerve to try
sending a few as well so that the campaign arouses HEAPS of interest (90,000 - 130,000 books worth of interest).

Maybe you know of someone who can help with...
• Displayboard to line the next container... and labour (in Auckland) to do it.
• A really good price for a return ticket to Nigeria.
• A national chain that could be easily identifiable as collection point for one week this coming December. Ideally 29
sites, nationwide, each holding 1 000 kilos of books would make internal freight much easier.
