Big names attracted to events industry seminar
David Burt, Tourism NZ’s events manager will take time out from the America’s Cup later this month to be part of an events industry seminar, organised by the Christchurch City Council.
Vito Lo Iacono, Industry New Zealand’s major events manager and Ian Bougen, CEO of Christchurch and Canterbury Marketing are the other big names, who have agreed to be part of a three-person panel, chaired by Councillor Paddy Austin.
“How economic development and tourism agencies can assist your event” will be the topic of the seminar – the second in the Council’s quarterly series for the events industry.
Organiser, Clare Quirke says it is not often that members of the industry are able to hear people with such expertise speak at an open forum. “We are hoping they will make the most of the opportunity, ask plenty of questions and prompt some lively discussion.”
The seminar will be held on Tuesday, 22 October between 4.30pm and 7pm at the newly refurbished Copthorne Central Christchurch, 776 Colombo St.
Entry will cost $15 for waged and $8 for unwaged. Bookings are essential as places are limited. RSVP by Friday, 18 October to Maria Leuluai, Christchurch City Council Leisure, Ph 941 6310 or email mailto: mailto:maria.leuluai@ccc.govt.nz
