Moth spraying called off for tomorrow
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has called off targeted aerial spraying against the painted apple moth in west Auckland for tomorrow because of forecasted continuing bad weather.
A decision will be made tomorrow afternoon about the chances of spraying over the weekend.
This is the fourth day that weather has postponed the sixth operation which was scheduled to start on Tuesday.
The targeted aerial spray zone covers some 600 hectares and affects 3,000 residential and business properties in parts of Te Atatu, Glendene, Kelston, Waterview, the Avondale Peninsula, low lying land alongside the north western motorway and the Waikumete Cemetery.
