Protests Continue Against The Sales Of Council Housing
The sales of the Council's housing stock will be the focus of protests at a rally tomorrow at 5.30pm called up Wake Up Auckland. The rally, outside the Town Hall, Queen Street, has been called to remind Council to pay heed to the submissions to the Council's draft annual plan. The deadline for submissions is Friday 24th May.
The Council Housing Action Group will bring along the thousands of proformas they have collected which specifically object to the sales of housing. Wake Up Auckland will be presenting their petitions against the sales of assets and cuts in services at the Council Meeting which starts at 6pm.
Protests will also continue outside the Council's Open Homes on Saturday 25th May in Freemans Bay and Grey Lynn, where they are selling 13 vacant residential units prior to any outcome of the submission process.
