Manukau City Council is calling for nominations for trustees to the Te Puru Community Charitable Trust.
The development of the Trust offers a special opportunity for Manukau City to implement a new and different approach to
providing recreational and community services. The formation of the Trust encourages local ownership of shared
facilities which will attract a wide variety of user-groups. Council is pleased to be able to assist in the formation of
the Trust, construction completion and the operational activities of the Te Puru facility.
The Trust is being set up to provide for the recreational, cultural and other community needs of the Manukau community
and the public at large, but in particular, those members who live and work in the Clevedon ward.
Mayor Sir Barry Curtis says that the Council is looking for people who will help the Trust achieve a balance of business
skills and experience, sales, marketing and communication skills, an involvement in the local community and a commitment
to recreational, cultural and other community needs.
“Candidates should live or work in Manukau or have an association with the Clevedon community, and have a passion for
improving the provision of recreational, cultural and community outcomes” says Sir Barry.
If you’re interested in becoming a Trustee, contact Karen Raynes, on 09 262 8900 ext 8725 for an information pack.
Expressions of interest close on 31 May 2002.
