Dust off those dancing shoes and join in the City to City Dance Festival at Hayman Park, Manukau City on 21 April.
Manukau City Council’s arts staff are looking for dance groups to participate in the Festival.
Arts Events Co-ordinator Leisa Siteine says that all dance styles are wanted. “Hip hop, Scottish, square dancing, and line dancing are just a few we’d like to see included. Each group will be given a 10 minute timeslot to showcase their talents.
“Spectators are more than welcome to attend and watch a wide variety of dance groups from around the City participating with their own vibrant styles and wonderful costumes. What better way to spend your Sunday afternoon, outdoors enjoying music and dance and the colourful spectacle of the dance festival?”
The event runs from 10am to 1pm and is also being simultaneously held in Auckland, Waitakere and North Shore cities. The dance groups from right around the region will combine at Aotea Square for a finale combined dance later that day at 2pm. A free bus will be available to take anyone from Hayman Park to Aotea Square and back to Manukau.
If your group would like to participate please call Leisa on 025 283 9885.
