Funding Information On Line
StartThe FundView and BreakOut databases, which
provide information on hundreds of funding organisations,
are now available free of charge at all Hutt City
Libraries.
Hutt City Council's Community Funding Officer Caroline O'Loan says the databases are an essential tool in sourcing funding information for community groups and individuals.
"They can help find the most appropriate funder for a project or activity, give information on where to go for application forms and guidelines and also provide advice on making good funding applications. The FundView database has about 667 nationally and regionally based funding schemes available for community groups. The BreakOut database has about 2000 different awards, scholarships and grants for individuals."
Caroline says until now the databases, which have recently been upgraded to Internet versions, have only been available at four of the city's libraries.
"The easier to use and easier accessible databases will help not-for-profit organisations and individuals in identifying appropriate funders for their projects or events," she says "They will also provide a more up to date, reliable and user-friendlier option for organisations seeking funding information."
Not only do the Internet version of both FundView and BreakOut improve community access, but there is the added advantage of automated monthly updates of each database including new funding schemes, scholarships and grants as well as the latest application closing dates.
Groups and individuals who would like further funding help can also approach Caroline direct on telephone 570 6527.
