MEDIA RELEASE 3 March 2002
Waterfront Watch endorses Mary Varnham’s bid for Chairperson of LHM
Waterfront Watch is endorsing the application by former city councillor Mary Varnham for the position of Chairperson of the Board of Lambton Harbour Management Ltd.
President of Waterfront Watch, Lindsay Shelton said "Mary would be an ideal candidate for the position of chairperson.
She has a firm understanding of the history and issues surrounding the waterfront and will work constructively to move the waterfront forward.
In line with the council's policy and public opinion she is in favour of downscaling the involvement of LHM in the decision making process.
Waterfront Watch supports this approach and we also applaud her awareness of consensus and her willingness to listen to what the city wants on the waterfront. We wholeheartedly recommend her for this position."
