THE BOUNTY OF HAWKE'S BAY
Flavours, colours, aromas and the banging of pots and pans will bring senses alive as fresh Hawke's Bay produce is gathered at the Hawke's Bay Farmers Market and whisked off to Sileni Estates Epicurean Centre for a celebrity cook off.
Join Peta Mathias, TV presenter on "Taste New Zealand" for a stroll through the finest local Hawke's Bay producers stalls and then watch Rick Rutledge-Manning (Executive Chef at Brookfields Vineyards) and Pierre Vuilleumier (Executive Chef at Pierre sur la Quai) whip up tempting dishes from the surprise black box of the purchases from the Sunday morning market.
Alternatively sit back and watch Kent Baddley (Executive Chef at Sileni Estates) and Michael Lee-Richard (Restaurateur) sizzle up local seafood during the "Cooking up a Gastronomic Storm" workshop.
Both of these events are food workshops at the New Zealand Food Wine Tourism Conference, being held 11 - 13 November 2001 in Hawke's Bay.
