Funding Available!

Published: Wed 15 Aug 2001 11:37 AM
Do you wish to provide social services to the Manukau community but need funding? Manukau City Council is now calling for applications to its Social Investment Fund for city-wide projects.
Councillor Ian McGechie, says “This year, we’ve made a change to the way we distribute this Fund. Instead of making several smaller grants of around $5,000, we are looking for funding applications from groups seeking over $20,000 to help deliver their programmes. We believe more can be achieved by funding fewer projects to a greater level. We hope this change in direction will ensure greater results, or that it will be able to provide seeding funds for new services to be established.”
“Also, this year we are concentrating on funding projects that target youth or selected communities – specifically Maori, Pacific Island, Asian or new migrant communities.”
To find out more about this fund, or get an application form, please phone 09-262 8900 ext 8813 or ext 8827. Applications close 28 September 2001.
