Manukau City Council is holding a funding information day to let Howick and Pakuranga residents know how to get funding
for their community groups and projects.
Community Advisors Ayr Jones (Pakuranga) and Paul Peteru (Howick) are encouraging community group representatives to
come along to the Fencible Lounge, Howick on Friday 27 April and hear all about the funding possibilities and
requirements.
Mr Jones says “We are aware that there is a huge number of community groups doing great work in our wards. Some of these
groups could be doing even better or bigger things with just a bit more financial help. Sourcing funding is one area
where there is a lot of confusion or even lack of knowledge of what’s available. As community advisors, it is part of
our job to help link people with resources, and this information day is one way of helping do this.”
Staff from the Lotteries Commission, the Licensing Trust, the Community Employment Group, ASB Trust, Manukau City
Council and the Counties Manukau Sport Foundation will all be there to talk about their funding opportunities and answer
questions. The day begins at 9am and ends at 2pm with lunch included.
A small charge of $5 per person will be made to cover catering costs. RSVPs are needed by 25th April to ensure seating
and catering arrangements are covered. For more information on the information day, people should contact Ayr Jones on
572 0034.
