Awesome New Community Website Launches Online

www.whatsonchristchurch.co.nz, New Zealand’s newest and most dynamic guide to what’s on and where, in and around Christchurch, is now on line.
Christchurch residents and visitors now have a new, innovative and up-to-the-minute on line information resource at www.WhatsOnChristchurch.co.nz. The site is packed with everything anyone would possibly want to know about what is happening in the garden city. With in-built specialist search facilities, What’s On offers quick and precise access to information on local events, entertainment, accommodation, restaurants, arts & crafts, retail shops, and an on line classified ad section.
Designed for the Christchurch community, What’s On also provides for the publishing of local content online. The site has been structured so that site visitors can search on very specific requirements. For example they can search on which restaurants in a certain suburb serves crayfish, or what events are happening on a particular date, which hotel has a swimming pool and so on.
The uses of the site are unlimited. For instance, anyone expecting overseas visitors can plan ahead by checking the site to see what events are on around the time of their visit. Business people can determine which restaurant has the best atmosphere and menu when deciding where to entertain their clients. Those stuck for ideas on what to buy someone for their birthday can search for something different at the many arts and crafts shops on the site.
The motivation for What’s On came through the frustration of using the Internet search facilities to find local information.
“For new immigrants and visitors to the city it is relatively easy to get tourist information about the area from the tourist information centres. But finding restaurant hotels, doctors, shops, local activities and transport was practically impossible on the Internet,” reflected Linda Davies, Director.
“We have structured the site such that visitors can search on very specific requirements. For example they can search on which restaurants in a certain suburb serves crayfish, or what events are happening on particular date and so on.”
New members can create their own site on-line in a matter of minutes by just completing a form and submitting their preferred image. As a member they can edit their site at any time from any location and publish their own events and promotions. They can even advertise jobs vacancies they may have, all at no extra cost. All sites are securely password protected. The cost for a site is only $20.00 per month and there is no set up fee.
As well as the hospitality industry What’s On covers local shops, travel and transport, and medical and health. A free Classified Ad section offers Christchurch citizens the ability to buy and sell on the web.
