Song To Promote Cleanliness

A CD has been recorded by Christchurch school children to be used to urge residents to keep the city beautiful.
Children of Isleworth Primary School have recorded the song, called Keep Christchurch Beautiful, for the Keep Christchurch Beautiful campaign.
The KCB co-ordinator, Ingrid Le Fevre, says the CD will be available at a cost of $12 from next month and all local radio stations will be sent a copy.
She says it will be played at events, such as the Canterbury Show. Words and music are by Roger Lusby. The three verses of the song say: Living in the city where the oak tree grows and the Avon River flows out to sea, There's a place for you and me in the heart of our city.
Home is where the heart is - give you heart a home - a little bit of love from you and me will make a home of our city. Keep Christchurch Beautiful - give it to a beautiful city.
Ducks on the river, the punt glides by. A nor-west arch forms in the sky. A cup of coffee as the jazz man plays, in the heart of our city.
See the colours at the market fair. Listen to the Wizard in Cathedral Square. Play a game in Hagley Park, in the heart of our city.
