The Community Trust has given $40,000 towards the development of facilities at the Bottle Lake Forest Park.
A Christchurch City Council Parks Unit planner, Kelly Hansen, says the money will be used for interpretive displays and information in the newly built visitors' centre, accessible paths through the forest, bicycle dirt trails for freestyle riders and improved mountain bike facilities.
It is expected that the centre will be opened early in the New Year.
