Council Elderly Weather Storm
All elderly in Christchurch City Council housing units encountered no emergencies in last week's storm, says the chairwoman of the City Services Committee, Carole Anderton.
She said today that no evacuations were necessary from City Council housing units and no emergencies occurred. The Council still received 70 calls from elderly residents, mostly about water leaks, tree damage and some surface flooding. "I am pleased that everything went well in terms of our elderly citizens in Council accommodation," Cr. Anderton said.
