There will be a meeting of community groups and activists in Wellington at
10.30am Sunday 16 April
Newtown Community Hall
Cnr Rintaul & Coloumbo St

Wellington
This meeting has been called for by the Water Pressure Group of Auckland,
and Penny Bright will be attending from that group.
While the issue of the commecialisation / privatisation of water services
throughout New Zealand will be discussed, the meeting will focus on Waste
Management (NZ) Ltd's current share sales aimed at further intervention
into public water services - particularly the company's declared plans to
takeover the Wellington water services, in partnership with Anglian Water.
Waste Management (NZ) already has water management agreements with
Thames/Coronmandel, Otorohanga and elsewhere.
Anglian Water is one of the largest water companys in the UK. In
connection with Opus they have been involved contractual work in wastewater
infrastructure in the Wellington region in the past.
