Three Million Visitors To Amex Cup Village

Published: Tue 15 Feb 2000 03:14 PM
The American Express New Zealand Cup Village has reached the remarkable achievement of three million visitors since it officially opened back in October last year.
As at 9pm last night the visitor tally was 3,007,698 - making the AMEX Cup Village the most successful and popular destination spot in New Zealand’s history.
PR Manager Sue Foley says: “To have had so many visitors in less than 6 months is certainly an achievement that the America’s Cup Village Limited, who manage the area, feel immensely proud of - especially considering that the defence of the America’s Cup is still four days away”.
What makes the figure even more impressive is despite the huge number of people who have visited the AMEX Cup Village there has not been one serious incident.
